It is nice to see this perspective spreading and I will do my part. This comes from a friend who adds,"let yourself be silly or foolish and you can learn more than you could pretend to know".
Here, kitty, kitty ... Who said quantum mechanics is not practical is absolutely nuts! Uncertainty principle = space and time patterns/attractions and repellings with people.
What if the unobserved past is indeterminate until it effects the present?
This would really be no different to Schroedingers cat being both alive and dead until you look at it - in effect the part of the past that belongs in the sealed box is just like a quantum blur, and only when an observer in the present actually opens the box does the system provide a fixed past of either a dead or alive cat. . And my perceptions simply magnify this effect up to a cosmic scale. The further back in human history I go, the less determined the past gets. The past "decays". Then, for whatever reason, if the "I" in the present takes an action which requires a definite history to have occurred, then the Universe "fills in" the missing bit pretty much like how it fills in the contents of Schroedinger's box when I look.
And, what is "filled in" does not necessarily have to be the same as "the original history", which has already "decayed" and gotten lost.
I have a number of different reasons for believing this to be true, the implications of quantum mechanics being one, and my "beliefs" about the nature of time and consciousness being another. As a result of these beliefs, many things become possible. My "beliefs" provide me with a mechanism that makes it possible to twiddle with the unobserved past to create probability defying synchronicities in the present, which can, to others, have the appearance of the miraculous.
Being alive may be a lot more than just being alive.

String theory does string things along. We are so limited by the small bandwidth of light we can see, the tones we can hear and the sense of smell we have. But science is as limited as we make it.
What makes us human is much more. It is our addiction to the familiar and the safe. Or reliance on what we can measure, prove, and repeat that can trap us in the box. Science, is just a step on the path to a great awakening. Science is a step in learning not a place to live in. Moving out of the box, stepping on to the next step up is living. It is when we can be the bird.

What an interesting concept, the unobserved past. And the possibility that we could take an action that has no precedent, no past, until we take it? Amazing stuff!
Thank you for this!
